In a unexpected partnership that breaks usual predictions, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Revealed

According to the official release, "A mysterious confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of prohibited practices and terrifying transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden sect.

The questline focuses on "bizarre trials and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Transformations

The teaser showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Additional Content

Players who finish the adventure will acquire an unique katana in addition to numerous items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe

Third Free Story Content

This patch also adds the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
